Mid-Toronto Community Services is a not-for-profit community agency, which provides programs and services to seniors and adults with disabilities

This position is responsible for picking up meals from our food sources and deliver meals to seniors and adults with disabilities.

Key Job Responsibilities Include:

• Complete Vehicle Check-List form on a daily basis
• Load up van with empty meals on wheels bags to take to St. Michael’s Hospital (food source)
• Pick up meals from St. Michael’s Hospital loading dock area
• Return to the agency and unload the meals on wheels bags from the van
• Deliver meals to clients with or without volunteers
• Re-deliver meals to clients
• Maintain adequate gasoline in the vehicle and follow procedures for gasoline credit card use
• Ensure vehicle is properly secured at the end of each shift
• Report to supervisor all vehicle maintenance problems in a timely fashion
• Operate agency vehicles in a safe manner
• Other duties as required
• Adhere to agency policies and procedures at all times

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Essential

• Personal Driver’s Insurance
• Valid Class G driver’s license
• Must be 25 years of age or older
• Clean and recent driver’s abstract
• Sensitive to the needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities
• Able to work as part of a team and independently

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Asset

• Personal Driver’s Insurance
• Valid Class F driver’s license
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and part of team
• Knowledge of downtown city streets
